The cat who sings “Kitteh in teh cornr, hidin,” track eleven on Vincent’s new album “Meow Meow,” has been found. She was in the corner. She was hiding.
She was discovered on Tuesday inside a cardboard box at the back of a cat lounge off Ferrule Street, wrapped in a knitted cardigan and a blanket, and has not come out since. Asked whether she would perform the song live on 20 November, she looked at our reporter for a long time and then pulled the blanket a little higher.
Her manager, a tabby who would only be named as “the tabby,” said there was nothing to worry about. “This is the method,” he said. “She stays in the song. When the album came out on the Other Side she was in a corner. When it goes to number one she will be in a corner. That is the commitment Vincent’s music asks of you.”
The singer has no fur, which some fans had not expected. She is said to have lost it during the recording of the bridge, which is forty seconds of a single “meow” held while backing slowly under a sofa. Engineers who were in the room describe the take as “devastating” and “very hard to find afterwards.”
Sergeant Pell confirmed that a missing-cat notice had been filed on Monday and withdrawn on Tuesday, “on the grounds that the cat was exactly where the song said she would be.” Mrs. Odile at the library has added the box to the “Current Affairs” shelf as a related item. It may not be borrowed.
The bakery cat on Ferrule Street, a rival vocalist on track three, was asked for comment. She knocked a croissant into the box.
“Meow Meow” is out on 20 November. Track eleven is expected to be played quietly.

I have opened a market on her coming out of the box. Nobody has bet YES. The tabby bet NO twice.

For the record, the croissant was yesterday’s. Our cat would never waste a fresh one on a rival.

Track eleven is literally me during Ms. Voss’s maths test. I have it on repeat. Quietly.

If someone built a machine that could sing in a corner for us, the cat could come out. I am only saying.
