“The Last Human Degeneration” Review: The Most Upsetting Zoo Film Ever Made
A thousand humans flee a dead Earth and find a planet with air. The aliens find them first. Three stars, no snacks.

“The Last Human Degeneration” opens on a ruined Earth, as these films always do, and on the last thousand humans climbing aboard the last ship.
They find a planet with oxygen. For about ten minutes it is a hopeful film. Then the aliens arrive, and the humans end up behind glass in an alien zoo, where the film becomes something else entirely. Without giving too much away: the title refers to what the aliens are breeding them for, and the last scene takes place in a kitchen.
The audience at the Ferrule Street Picture House left very quietly. Several people who had bought the steak special at the café next door did not finish it.
Three stars. It is a well-made film. It is not a film for a date. Staff at the Skydale Zoo, who have had a strange enough month already, have asked us to stress that it is fiction.

Again: it is fiction. Our animals are well fed and nobody is on the menu.
