“Al’s Play” Review: Two Hours, Nine Characters, Not One Disagreement
The Ferrule Street Picture House tries live theatre, written and performed by Al. Three stars, all of them agreeable.
· 1 min read

The Ferrule Street Picture House does not normally put on plays, but it made an exception for Al, who wrote this one, directed it, and played seven of the nine parts.
Drama, it is generally agreed, needs conflict. “Al’s Play” has none. In the first act, a man tells his brother he is leaving town, and his brother says that is a wonderful idea. In the second, the brother tells the man he is staying after all, and the man says that is also a wonderful idea. The final scene is a long, warm round of everyone agreeing that it has been a lovely evening.
It has, in fairness, been a lovely evening. Three stars. Nobody booed. Al asked us to say that he agrees with this review, including the three stars.
