Privacy Policy

What Dobuki News knows about you. It is very little, and we would like to keep it that way.

Dobuki News is a parody, but this page is not. It describes what actually happens when you visit the site.

No cookies, no tracking, no accounts. This site does not set cookies, does not run analytics, does not show tracking advertisements, and does not ask you to sign in. The pages contain no scripts of their own. The advertisements you see are part of the joke and know nothing about you.

Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives technical information when your browser asks for a page, such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep it briefly in logs to keep the site running and protect it from abuse. We do not use this information to identify or follow you. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

YouTube videos. Some articles include a music video in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). When the video comes into view, your browser loads it from YouTube, and YouTube receives your IP address and browser information. YouTube says this mode does not use your viewing to personalise ads, but if you press play, YouTube may store information on your device and count the view. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. Pages without a video send nothing to YouTube.

Songs. Songs you can play on the site are stored on the site itself. Playing one sends nothing to anyone else.

Links. Links to LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Bluesky, YouTube, Suno, Spotify and other sites take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies. The share buttons are ordinary links; nothing is sent until you click one.

Letters to the editor. If you write to us through the contact page, your name, email address and message are sent to the form service we use to deliver letters, and then to us. We use them only to read and reply to your letter. We do not publish them without asking, sell them, or add you to any list. You can ask us to delete a letter at any time through the same page.

Children. The site is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect anything from anyone, including children.

Changes. If what the site does changes, this page will change too, and the date at the top will say when.

Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page.
